Approval of welding procedure specification

This service is to check and approve all the parameters mentioned in a WPS compared to the standard / code applicable and especially the Key variables.

Generally, an International welding engineer is responsible for this type of service.

Welding procedure qualification (PQR)

This procedure used to validate the achieving of a weld in a (WPS) under the supervision of a qualified inspector. The PQR is recognition of the reliability of a weld performed according to the WPS about the qualification and gives satisfactory results for the service.

This service consists of 04 steps:

  • Assistance in qualifying by a qualified inspector and certified
  • Non Destructive Control required by the standard / code applies
  • Achieving the mechanical tests required by the standard / code and applicable customer requirements
  • Preparation of a report showing all the welding parameters and results of inspections and tests realized

Welder’s performance qualification (QS/OQ)

This service’s main objective is to verify the eligibility of a person when performing a welding operation.

The audit also aims to recognize the ability of the welder to implement specific instructions as to weld edge preparation, respect for welding passes… the application of WPS.

Welding Supervision

This service is performed by certified and experienced inspectors who are responsible for the achievement of the welded structures and equipment according to scope of work and building codes required.

This operation involves several activities:

  • Documentary verification (WPS, PQR, welding certification, material certification, etc.).
  • Monitoring and supervision of welding work and ensures the implementation of WPS.
  • Planning and approval of controls required by the inspection plan.
  • Collection and verification of the final documents of the work.

Verification of welding machines

This service consists of verification operation of a welding machine. The service , performed by a qualified welding inspector , consists to:

  • Visual inspection of the general state of the machine: connections, displays, the configuration buttons, etc.
  • Function test: measured using a clamp Amperemeter intensities (the closest to the arc) delivered by the machines during a welding operation and compared with the values displayed on each machine. A calibration curve is plotted to assist the welder to have exact values of intensity
